4. Central deadbolt The steel central deadbolt acts in the same way as a door lock - shutting out potential attack from a jemmy or crowbar at the centre of the window. Positioned in a slim, durable gearbox, the deadbolt completes the locking mechanism that means that the Visage® window has been accredited with BS 7950 - the British Standard that relates to a window's protection against forced entry.
